What do I want to withdraw from?

Desert often points out that one lives too soberly, factually and sensibly, - the emotional needs are neglected over it, one feels unhappy. 

After all, the desert can also stand for deep existential fear and insecurity. The individual meaning results from the concrete living conditions. If a dream acts that the dreaming is alone in the desert, this is possibly an indication of a lack of emotional fulfillment, of loneliness or perhaps isolation. However, if the dreaming is with another person in the desert, then this may show that this relationship is useless or leads nowhere. Another aspect of the desert can be explained by the fact that it played an important role for many founders of religions (Moses, Jesus). This was the place to which they retired for direct communion with God. 

If one dreams of a desert, this can also mean that one wants to go far away from everything everyday in order to find one's inner determination and one's own way to God in solitude and contemplation.
