Basics of Astrology – Part III – The Planets

The planets are the active force principles or basic forces of the horoscope. 

In the "Grammar of Astrology" they are the "acting subjects".In the astrological sense, the sun and moon are also considered planets. the word "planet" comes from Greek. Planetes and originally means: wandering around, roaming around or also vagrant. since obviously the moon and, from the earth's point of view, also the sun "wander", the astrological use of the term planet is quite consistent with the original meaning.

Understanding their meaning is the basis of any serious astrological work. The material celestial bodies are the physical indicators of an astral force which works in (and upon) the psyche of man. The power of every planet works in every human being, just as every horoscope contains all the planets. 

These spheres of power are called Sefiroth in the Qabbalah. singular sefirah.
