The Deer
What part of me is looking for protection?
In the Nordic cultures the stag is a celestial animal, its antlers represent the ladder to heaven.
This
explains that in the Christian religion the stag often stands for
Christ and has a redeemer symbolism. The stag and the unicorn are
synonymous in mythology. They stand as an image for the unity of soul
and spirit. The stag also has an erotic meaning in popular belief
because of its rutting fights for the hind. From a depth psychological
point of view, it can symbolize repressed female traits in men or male
traits in women and ask them to accept them.
Sometimes the deer
promises women happiness in love, whereby they may have to put horns on
someone, - it announces success and brilliant ideas to men, which are
not limited to the erotic alone.
He often points out that one should be content with modest prosperity and quiet family happiness.
